ROBESON COUNTY COMPUTER OPERATIONS
Our Mission
The Department of Computer Operations’ mission is to provide oversight of all Information Technology (IT) hardware and services within Robeson County, to assist all departments in assessing their information technology needs; to stay abreast of changes in the fast paced information technology industry; to provide oversight of all county IT hardware and software purchases; maintenance and repairs, training, and technical support.
Computer Operations, established in November of 1998, a department under the supervision of the Robeson County Manager and answerable to the Board of Commissioners is responsible of all Information Technology (IT) hardware and software purchases, training, technical and phone support, security, repairs and maintenance, new hardware and software implementations, the review of (IT) related contracts, and the maintenance of Robeson County’s WAN and Lan’s.
Computer Operations assists all departments in hardware and software procurement, difficult data conversions, hardware procurement; provides technical support for both departmental hardware and software and local area networks (LANs). Another facet of the responsibility of Computer Operations is the development, maintenance, and oversight of a Robeson County Web presence and the establishment and maintenance of a computer use policy.
