Undetected water leaks can cost hundreds of dollars a month and lead to mold issues and structural damage. To alleviate the potential for high utility bills and ongoing problems, your partners at the Robeson County Water Department offer an automated water meter through EyeOnWater, allowing access through your personalized online portal.
What Is EyeOnWater?
The platform EyeOnWater allows customers to manage their water usage more efficiently and identify potential leaks in a timely manner. You can log into the EyeOnWater account through the system's website or mobile app.
Why It Matters
Water leaks from a dripping faucet, running toilet, or cracked pipe can result in serious health, financial, and foundational consequences. Prolonged water leaks also adversely affect the environment in multiple ways, such as:
Wasting clean water
Contributing to soil erosion
Damaging natural habitats and harming ecosystems
Contaminating local water sources
With access to the EyeOnWater platform, you'll be alerted when the system detects unusually high water consumption, preventing leaks and ultimately saving you money. Notifications can be sent via text or email.
How to Enroll
You can sign up for an EyeOnWater account through the website. To get started, you'll need your account number as it appears on your utility bill. This short, informative video introduces the platform's key features and its money-saving benefits.

To help you along your new water conservation journey, we've anticipated a few of the questions you might have, providing answers for them. Also, investigate the accompanying links and video to better acclimate yourself to the many EyeOnWater money-saving benefits.
How does EyeOnWater detect leaks?
Since EyeOnWater cannot determine if water was left running by accident or turned on deliberately:
The system identifies possible leaks by monitoring continuous water flow over 24 hours or flow exceeding a set limit known as the alert threshold.
When you establish an alert threshold, the system reviews the most recent 24 consecutive hours during which your meter connected with EyeOnWater.
An alert will be triggered if the flow surpasses the threshold during that time period.
No alert will be issued if the flow falls below the threshold or drops to zero, even if the threshold was exceeded one or more times within said 24 hours.
What is the appropriate leak threshold?
Although each home or business has unique needs, setting a threshold of one gallon per hour allows you to detect and address the most common household leaks before they become serious problems.
Can I see my water usage in real time?
The new hardware uploads water usage data a few times a day using cell phone technology. While it's not minute-by-minute real-time uploads, it usually occurs at the same time each day.
Can I see my water account balance or pay my bill through the EyeOnWater website or app?
No, your billing information is not accessible through EyeOnWater. To access your current balance or pay your bill, you'll need to connect through the CC Paymet Service online or call 910-671-3478.
